Below is my March meal plan.
At the end of every month, I meal plan for the upcoming month. I plan out all dinners ahead of time so that when I sit down each week to plan meals and gather a grocery list, I already have my dinner ideas ready to go.
HOW I SIMPLIFY MEAL PLANNING
Themes- Each day of the week has itโs own theme. I have found that choosing a theme each day makes meal planning SO MUCH EASIER!! Things may change from time to time, but overall I stick to this template. This month, I’ve changed a couple of the themes from my previous menus! I’ve added a “chicken” night, a “sheet pan” night and flip flopped my fish and frugal nights, to better fit our schedule.
Rotating Menu- After listening to Wellness Mama’s podcast, “Practical Time-Saving Systems for Parents,” I am eager to try a rotating menu. She creates a “top 14 meals” per season. Once those 2 weeks are up, they repeat again for another 14 days, and so on until the season changes. Shopping seasonal is great because the food will be more nutrient dense and cheaper!
I am going to try this for the month of March, then switch things up for April, when the seasonal produces changes. However, weekends will be more flexible because my husband likes to cook once in a while and comes up with his own ideas. ๐
ABOUT THIS MEAL PLAN:
I am currently removing refined sugar, gluten and dairy from my diet to experiment with how certain foods make me feel. This menu was created with that in mind.
A lot of the meals are vegan, while others include chicken, fish, sausage and beef. I am just now re-introducing beef back into my diet (only eating it a few times a month) after giving it up for a long time. I was craving it, so I am listening to my body and will see how it makes me feel. I am really trying to focus on real, whole foods that make me feel GOOD.
I love trying new recipes, so I have marked which recipes will be new to me as well.
This month I’ve also included some breakfast, lunch, snack and dessert options that I will be trying! I’m hoping this makes planning each week even easier!
